THE DURANGO DOUBLE - a festival for runners!
The Durango Double - a festival for runners will be held in October under the changing Fall colors. It is a weekend-long festival celebrating running, health and fitness and the spirit of human achievement. Unmatched for beauty, you’ll agree that Durango is truly a runner’s paradise.
The Durango Double will feature 25K & 50K trail runs on Saturday, October 6th and a Half Marathon & the Marathon on Sunday, October 7th.
At the Durango Double you can run any one race or you can “Do the Double” by running a trail race on Saturday and a road run on Sunday. Wait, it’s not as crazy as it sounds. Doing the 25K & half marathon double is just a little longer than a marathon, but half way through you get to stop, eat, drink beer, sleep and then get up and finish the next day and you don’t have to be in marathon shape!
Your longest training run only needs to be 15 – 18 miles; so this is the perfect option for someone who is training for a late fall marathon or who has not quite gotten all the long run miles done for marathon training.
Plus, if you do the Double and you are going to do something unique and you’re going to get a very cool award to commemorate your achievement.
